Useful/Useless Diagram.
January 2010
This diagram outlines the Useful/Useless project, in which I surveyed strangers and friends in order to compile a list of Useful and Useless acts. Once the list was formed I used a typewriter to write 100 letters which cited an example of one Useful and Useless act. I then sent these letters anonymously to 50 friends and 50 strangers.
This project was installed from late January until mid March in a storefront in downtown Chicago as part of exhibition called ‘Usefulness.’
